Q. Can I rent from FUN AND SUN RENTALS anywhere in Maine?
A. FUN AND SUN RENTALS serves the beautiful sandy Maine beaches from Higgins Beach in Scarborough to Cape Porpoise. This area includes Higgins Beach, Prouts Neck, Ferry Beach Scarborough, The Eastern Trail, Pine Point Beach, Pine Point Town Landing, Old Orchard Beach, Ocean Park, Bayside, Kinney Shores, Ferry Beach Saco, Camp Ellis, Hills Beach, Biddeford Pool, Fortunes Rocks , Goose Rocks and Cape Porpoise.
Q. Is there an additional charge for delivery and pickup?
A. There is no charge for delivery and pickup between U.S. Route 1 and the ocean in any of the beaches in the previous answer.
Q. Is there a minimum charge?
A. Yes. The minimum charge is $50 north of the Saco River and $100 south of the Saco River.
Q. Are discounts available?
A. Yes. You will receive a 20% discount on your entire order (not just the second week) if you rent for more than two weeks. And you will receive a 10% discount on your entire order if you reserve at least 14 days in advance. Returning customers receive a 10% discount.
Active duty Military with ID will always receive a 50 % discount, in lieu of all other discounts, when they rent from Fun and Sun Rentals LLC.
Q. Are reservations required?
A. We have a lot of equipment, but we are not always able to fulfill last minute requests, so we recommend reservations. You will get a 10% discount on your entire order if you reserve at least 14 days in advance, and you will be sure that the items you want are available and delivered when you want them. This is especially important during July and August. Advance reservations are required for the sailboats and guided kayak tours.
Q. May I pick up my rental items?.
A. No. All items are delivered and picked up. We can make the best use of our time and equipment this way and keep our prices down.
Q. When will my items be delivered?
A. We can usually schedule delivery and pick up on your schedule. Making a reservation early helps ensure this as our schedule tends to fill up pretty early.
Q. How do I pay?
A. You can pay with Visa, Mastercard, or cash.
Q. Is a damage or cleaning deposit required?
A. No, but please read the next Q and A.
Q. Is there a cleaning charge?
A. There is no cleaning charge if your rental items are in reasonably clean condition at the end of your rental period. If not there will be a $25 cleaning charge. Avoid the cleaning fee by rinsing things off with a garden hose to remove most sand and all mud and other undesireables. Please.
Q. What if a rental item becomes broken or damaged while I have it or if it gets lost or stolen?
A. You are responsible for returning the rental item in good repair and condition (that includes no missing parts), reasonable wear and tear excluded. If you do not, you will be charged for the reasonable cost of repair or replacement of the part or item. Common sense will tell us both what normal wear and tear is.
Q. Is a reservation deposit required?
A. Yes. At the time of your reservation you will be asked for a deposit equal to 50% of your order.
Q. What happens to my deposit if I cancel my reservation?
A. You will receive a complete refund if you cancel before seven days from your scheduled delivery day. For example if your delivery day is Saturday seven days in advance would be the previous Saturday before 5 p.m. If you cancel after the seven day in advance period, you will forfeit your deposit.
